Tommy Hartwick Obituary

Tommy Ray Hartwick passed away on April 10, 2021, at the age of 70.  Tommy was born in Batesville on May 14, 1950, to the late Orvin and Lorene (Moore) Hartwick. From the time Tommy was a boy his heart belonged in nature. Whether it was out on the water enjoying one of his many overnight float trips, fishing, camping, or landscaping Tommy just loved the outdoors. Although he could be very reserved and quiet, you knew he really liked you if he would pick on you. In his youth, Tommy served our country by joining the United States Army. Later in life, he served our community as a police officer. Eventually, he started landscaping that way he could do what he really loved, which was being outside. Tommy was a loving father, brother, uncle, grandpa (Grandy-Pa), and friend whose love and legacy will forever be cherished by his loved ones.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Orvin and Lorene (Moore) Hartwick. He is survived by his son, Chad Hartwick; his daughter, Kristi Barry; one brother, David Hartwick (Wanda); two sisters, Sandra Cullins (David) and Carrol Hoover; five grandchildren, Alexandria Hartwick, Priscilla Hornsby, Zachary Hartwick, Lilly Hornsby, and Kristopher Hartwick; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A family memorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Buffalo River Foundation.
