Silas Harold Wallis was born on March 19, 1925 and passed away Sept. 5, 2018. He was a policeman on the Batesville force for many years after serving in the Army during World War II. He loved playing and singing country music then later in his retirement years, he would hook up the camper and travel to blue grass festivals. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Opal Wallis; granddaughter, Dennise Wallis; sister, Geneva Morgan; sister, Ruth Jeffery; brother, Richard Wallace; his mother, Susie Van Winkle; and father, Lewis Wallis; He is survived by his son, Dennis Wallis of Bryant, Ark, daughter, Judy Stone of Round Rock, Texas, two granddaughters, Crystal Buck and Allison Croft of Texas; three great grandchildren, Justin Buck, Shelby Buck, and Haley Croft. Visitation will be Tue. Sept. 11, 5-7 p.m. 2018, at Willis Funeral Service in Batesville, Ar. Funeral service will be Wed. Sept. 12, 2018, 10 a.m. at Harrison St. Church of Christ in Batesville, Ar. Pallbearers will be Dan Stone, Luther Buck, John Croft, Rocky Morgan, Justin Buck, and Laddy Barber. Honorary pallbearer will be Dennis Wallis. Burial will be at Barnes Cemetery in Bethesda, Ar.
