Ronallien “Roni” Mae Crider, 75, of Batesville, died on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Roni was born in Council Bluffs, IA, on January 29, 1948, to the late Louis Fisher and Mabel (Belt) Fisher. Roni was of the Christian faith and worshiped the lord as a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Southside.
Roni was an educator for close to 30 years. Most of her career was spent at Southside School District. Roni loved to serve others and especially enjoyed dedicating her life to the education, care, and development of children. Her role at Southside was too great to define by one title. Roni was more than willing to help wherever she was needed. She drove a bus, sponsored extracurricular activities, ran the scoreboard at sporting events, and especially later in her career, Roni enjoyed teaching and caring for students with special needs. She was well known for bringing her homemade treats to the faculty every Friday. Aside from educating, Roni also enjoyed camping and cooking. But the thing that meant the most to her was her family. Roni treasured her role as “Nanny”. Roni was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren, she especially enjoyed attending their sporting events. There was rarely a sporting event that she missed. Roni touched the lives of so many throughout the years and her impact will never be forgotten. She will be forever loved and dearly missed by those who were blessed to know her.
Roni is preceded in death by both of her parents and her two brothers, Louie Fisher, and Larry Fisher. She is survived by her son, Shane Crider (Amanda); her 4 daughters, Lori Tacker, Kim Cummings (Brad), Leslie Anderson (Andy), and Keri Grimes; her brother, Terry Fisher; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; numerous extended family members, friends, and her dog Jasper.
Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville. Fellowship Baptist Church in Southside will host the services. Visitation will be at the church from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at Kyler Cemetery immediately after the funeral. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Blake Tacker, Derrick Tacker, Hunter Cummings, Drew Gutierrez, Robert Hatfield, and Rick Keller. The family would like to recognize Jordan Grimes as an honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Fellowship Baptist Church in Southside, with a special emphasis on their backpack program, which serves students in the Southside School District
