LeRoy Grizz Bowren, 91, of Pleasant Plains, Arkansas died November 2, 2016 at the White River Medical Center. He was born March 17, 1925 in Saint Petersburg, Florida to William Eugene and Arkie Gay Bowren. He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Noland Company and worked for Consolidated and Sanders Company until he retired again. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, four-wheeler riding, and lots of ballgames.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers Melvin and Leland Bowren, and two nephews Rickey and Reggie Bowren.
Survivors include his wife Susie Bowren of the home; one daughter Linda Allgood and her husband Eddie; four sons: Gary Bowren and his wife Leveta, Barry Bowren and his wife Vickey, Larry Bowren and his wife Anita, and Kenny Bowren and his wife Jessica; one step-son William Flinn; two step-daughters Ilene Curtis and her husband Gary and Shelia Elumbaugh and her husband Randell; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; special friend Doug and Phyllis Garth; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday November 4th from 1-2 PM with the funeral service beginning at 2 PM both at the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Pleasant Plains with Bro. Reagan Shearer officiating. Burial will follow at the Cedar Grove Cemetery of Floral.
Pallbearers include: Robin Bowren, Reginald Bowren, Matt Bowren, Brandon Bowren, Danny Allgood, and Justin Bell.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Mr. LeRoy to the Building Fund at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
