Kenneth Cross Obituary

Kenneth Robert Cross, age 69, died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Ken was born in Flint, Michigan on December 14, 1948 to Clyde and Eilene (Louise) Cross. Ken graduated Birch Run High school where he was in the marching band and played football. At Michigan State University, Ken earned a degree in Engineering which he used to begin a long, successful career as a Civil Engineer. Ken sang in the church choir as a child and again in adulthood. Church was a place where he combined his strong faith in God and his love of music. Ken sang in the car and enjoyed family holidays where Ken, his father, and his siblings all played instruments while the whole family sang. The Cross family also enjoys games, and Ken takes the title of Backgammon “King of the World” with him. If you met Ken, it didn’t take long to figure out that he loved to tell a tale that would make you laugh, and with him there was no such thing as a short story. Ken took very seriously the roles of husband, father, and citizen. He was honest almost to a fault. If you entered into a conversation with Ken about politics, you were going to be there for a while. Ken leaves behind family and friends who are left smiling at the memories of his Larger-than-life personality. He is survived by his wife, Donna Cross as well as his children Danielle, Joe (Krista), Kelly. He also leaves a beloved step-daughter, Lisa. His siblings Jerry (Teresa), Eilene, and Marvin (Ruth) along with their children also mourning the loss of their brother and uncle. Children were always a great joy to Ken, and he was immeasurably proud of his grandchildren: Jackie, Lilah, Jackson, Gracie, and Josie. The family will carry on his stories and his songs. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sherri, and grandson Evan. Visitation will be Tue.
