Jerry proudly served in the United States Army and was deployed during the Vietnam War. He spent his life working in mechanical construction and as a carpenter. He worked zealously, taking pride in his work.
Jerry Ross McGee was the kind of man they just don’t make anymore. He loved his family wholeheartedly, never falling short of “I love you”s. He held his front door wide open, welcoming strangers as if they were kin. He understood the value of his friendships, always placing his loved ones above himself. He was a God-fearing man and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jane, Missouri. He loved to hunt and fish and could make the best deer jerky in all of the South. Jerry could play guitar better than the greats. He was like a cowboy from an old movie, a true embodiment of a southern gentleman.
