James Ray Davis, 85, of Batesville passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2019. James was called home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ as he was a devout believer in the Gospel and served the Lord in life as well as being a member of the First Assembly of God in Batesville. James worked for the Arkansas State Highway Department for over 20 years and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He leaves behind a legacy of love, positivity, and faith.
James is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Grisham Davis of Marion, his brother, Richard Davis, and his son Jimmy Davis. He is survived by his grandson, Chaz Davis of Batesville, who described his grandfather as “the most positive and strongest man he has ever known”, his granddaughter, Cierra Pankowski (Edward) of North Carolina, and one great granddaughter, Heavenlee Pankowski, and his very special friend, Hazel Hall.
Arrangements are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service. There will be a Memorial Service Visitation Friday, November 29, 2019, at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville from 4-6 PM.
