J.B. Hill

John Boyce “J.B.” Hill Jr., 77, of Batesville, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 12, 2019.  J.B. was born on May 9, 1942 in Delight, AR to the late John Boyce Hill Sr. and Verna (Mclaughlin) Hill. J.B. spent many of his early years in the log woods, assisting his family logging since the age of 10. J.B. served his country honorably as a member of the Arkansas Nation Guard. J.B. did so many different things but what he was most known for professionally was his time as a car salesman. He worked for Buddy Jones Ford in Greenwood, Mississippi for several years then moved back to Arkansas and spent several years and Independence Ford. After retiring from auto sales, J.B. spent another 12 years running his own lawn mowing service here in Batesville. J.B. was a real people person and never met a stranger, he was hard-working and loved to serve others.  J.B. enjoyed hunting, reading (especially History), traveling (having been to every state except Hawaii), and taking his boys fishing on the Little Missouri River. But most of all, J.B. loved his family, spending time with his children and grandchildren was when he was happiest.

J.B. is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers:  James Doyle Hill and Troy Russell Hill, and one son Jed Brandon Hill. J.B. is survived by his wife Freda Robinson Hill, two sons: Jon Brent Hill of Delight, AR, and John Boyce Hill (Jordon) of Jonesboro, AR, his daughter Amber Arlene Tatum (Carmos) McKinney, TX, 4 sisters:  Sue Garrett of Arkadelphia, AR, Wynell Collinsworth of Ashland, KY, Joan Feutral of Delight, AR, and Kay Garner of Delight, AR. 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and so many good friends.

Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR. There will be a Memorial Service Visitation at Willis Funeral Service, Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 6-8 PM
