Florence Lally Schwanbeck, 90, peacefully departed to be with her Lord on July 5, 2023. She was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on October 10, 1932, to Joseph and Anne Lally.
Florence was incredibly kind, outgoing, and a positive light everywhere she went. No matter what life threw at her, she always had a positive spirit. Florence graduated from St. Joseph Academy in St. Augustine, Florida, and then went to St. Mary’s School of Nursing, West Palm Beach, Florida. She was very hardworking and worked as a nurse for over twenty years. Florence was also an avid reader and was known to read up to three books a week. She also enjoyed traveling, and through her husband’s work in the Air Force, she lived all over the country and even in Japan for over two years. Florence met the love of her life, Marvin, on a blind date and was happily married for 61 years until Marvin passed away in 2016. Above all, Florence devoted her life to taking care of her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose memory will forever live on in the hearts of those that were lucky enough to know and love her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Lally and Anne (McCarthy) Lally; her loving husband, Marvin Schwanbeck; sisters, Anita Francis and Miriam Boyle; and brother, Junior Lally. She leaves behind to cherish in her memory, her daughters, Maureen McChesney (Gary) of Batesville, Arkansas, and Sharon Tollin (Michael) of Dade City, Florida; son, Kevin Schwanbeck (Marge) of Indialantic, Florida grandchildren, Ryan McChesney (Callie), Grant McChesney (Elizabeth), Ben Tollin (Rachel), and Colton King; great-grandchildren, Claire McChesney, Olivia McChesney, and James Tollin; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Little Rock, Arkansas, on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 10 a.m. Final care and arrangements are entrusted to Willis Funeral Services in Batesville, AR.
