Edwin Edward Spinks, 90, of Locust Grove passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019. Edwin was born November 16, 1929, in Wolf Bayou to the late John Lloyd and Sula Reed Spinks. He served the Lord Jesus Christ in life and was a dedicated member at Oak Grove Church in Wolf Bayou. Ed was an avid Concord Pirate fan; he was also a Godly man who much of the community cherished and adored. He loved his family very much and leaves a legacy of hard work, faith, and love that they will carry on for years to come.
Ed was proceeded in death by his parents, the mother of his children Shirley Brewer Spinks, and his 8 siblings: Ralph Spinks, Eugene Spinks, Byron Spinks, John Spinks, Mary Helms, Mildred Cranford, Ina West, and Winona Martin. Ed is survived by his wife Joan Spinks, his two sons Michael (Rosa Lee) Spinks and Michael (Lorna) Schoenbrun, two daughters, Carolyn (Johnny) Parish and Kelly (Ricky) Lacy, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Arrangements are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville. There will be a visitation Sunday night December 22nd from 6-8 p.m. at Oak Grove Church in Drasco, AR. His funeral service will be held Monday December 23rd at 2 p.m. also at Oak Grove Church with interment to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
