Desha Byrd Kruse

Desha Byrd Kruse, 68, passed away on May 2, 2023, at her home in Batesville, AR. She was born on November 16, 1954, in Banner Elk, North Carolina, to the late John M. Byrd and Jean (Minter) Byrd.

Desha worked at Touch of Design Florist for nineteen years and was the church secretary at Hope Lutheran Church for twenty-two years. She enjoyed crafting and reading. She also loved spending time with her family and church family. Above all else, Desha’s faith was everything. She was baptized on January 1, 1955, and confirmed on the same day her daughter, Heather, was baptized in Randolph on November 3, 1974. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose memory will forever be cherished by those that loved her.

Desha is survived by her loving husband of almost fifty years, Steven Kruse; daughters, Heather Grady (Roy) and Ashley Kruse; grandchild, Ashton Burns (Merv); great-grandchild, Josiah Burns; sisters, Terry VandeVelde and Cheryl Morrison (Steve); and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Cecil and Lucile (AH-ME) Byrd and Ruby Minter.

A visitation will be held at Hope Lutheran Church on Friday, May 5, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Heinecke, will follow at 11 a.m. Graveside Services to follow at a later date in Randolph, Nebraska.
