Yvonne Renee (Castle) McMahan entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the age of 64. Yvonne was born on June 23, 1960, in Springfield, OH, to the late James and Sally Castle. She was of Christian faith and was a member of the Cushman United Methodist Church. Yvonne graduated from Batesville High School, Class of 1978. She was passionate about helping others, especially children. Yvonne had over 20 years of dedicated experience in the school system. She was a counselor and secretary at Cushman High School for more than 10 years and then spent another 11 at Southside High School. Her impact was felt by both students and faculty alike. Her heartfelt passion was infectious, and she left a positive impression on everyone that she met. Yvonne enjoyed traveling, bowling, being the choir director in her church, and being outside (whether it was fishing, or just being out on the lake). Out of all her hobbies and passions, nothing meant more to Yvonne than her family. Everything she did was made better, by doing it with the love of her life, and husband of 32 years, Mike McMahan. They enjoyed traveling together and took many long road trips. They enjoyed being out on the water fishing or boating. They were the chief coordinators of Minors Day in Cushman for close to 25 years, Yvonne loved putting together all the festivities and the parade. She was instrumental in making Minors Day the tradition that it is for Cushman and surrounding areas. Yvonne was a loving wife, daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, co-worker, counselor, and friend. She will be dearly missed by everyone who was blessed to know her.

Yvonne is reunited in Heaven with her parents; her grandparents; her in-laws, Ernest and Earline McMahan; her brothers-in-law, Gary Dockins and Dave Hartsock; and her son, Justin Ray McMahan. She is survived by her loving husband, Mike McMahan; her son, Randal McMahan (Melissia), her daughter, Josie McMahan (Greg Kolton); her two sisters, Linda Hartsock and Julia Dockins; her brother James Castle (Rachel); her grandchildren, Brayden McMahan, Khyler McMahan, Maggi Jo Hooper, Maverick Ray Kolton, Victor Kolton, and Luca Kolton; and several extended family members and many friends.

Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville. Cushman Assembly of God will host the services on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until 1p.m with the funeral service, officiated by Pastor Carl Blankenship, beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jimmy Hodges, Kevin Qualls, Roger Ried, Roger Rich, Dion Stevens, Randy Lamons, and Rick Rikard. The family would like to recognize all of Yvonne's family and close friends as honorary pallbearers.
