IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William "Bill"
Mansfield Gramig Jr.
February 27, 1939 – November 20, 2025
William (Bill) Mansfield Gramig Jr. returned to our Heavenly Father on November 20, 2025. Bill was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on February 27, 1939. He is preceded in passing by his parents, Josephine and William Gramig Sr., and by his sister, Carolyn Kolbrook. He leaves behind his loving children Jennifer Green (Rayburn Green), Greta Gramig, and Billy Gramig (Vicki); his cherished grandchildren Caroline Grace Gramig and William Mansfield Gramig IV; as well as his steadfast companion, Joyce Curtis. Bill grew up in Louisville and attended Saint Xavier High School. He went on to earn his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Louisville in 1962, followed by his M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 1966. A proud supporter of the Fighting Irish, Bill loved cheering on Notre Dame throughout his life. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a Chemical Engineer with Eastman Kodak, eventually retiring and embracing retirement with joy and gratitude. Bill will be remembered by his children as a loving, kind, and wise father—a steadfast source of comfort, encouragement, and guidance. He was gregarious, thoughtful, and exemplified the very best of what a father should be. He loved to travel, especially to Seaside, Florida, and Memphis, Tennessee. His friends will fondly remember conversations on his porch—often accompanied by a cigar and a well-earned libation—where he delighted in discussing life, faith, and the questions that shape us as human beings. Bill's legacy of love, curiosity, and kindness will live on in all who knew him.
