William David Byers, 75, passed away September 21, 2026, in Batesville, Arkansas. He was born on January 17, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to the late William Carl Byers and Mary Katherine (McNamara) Byers. William married Ann Marie (Wiese) Byers on July 14, 1982, in Iowa City. He was a greeter at his church and volunteered at the pantry outreach. He was in the United States Air Force from 1971 until 1975. William was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

William is survived by his wife, Ann Byers; daughters, Jennifer Scheitler (Troy), Hailey Byers (Shayne Maxwell); grandchildren, Brandon Scheitler (Aryenia), Jaycee Scheitler, Bella Scheitler, John Scheitler, Addylyn Scheitler, and McKenzie Maxwell; great-grandchild, Payson Scheitler; and sister, Pam Byerly. He is preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Marie Byers; mother-in-law, Theresa Wiese; father-in-law, Richard Edward Wiese; and two sons, Casey Byers and Justin Paul Byers.
