Verna Cassidy Comfort, 84, passed away at home in Batesville, AR on February 24, 2025. She was born on July 25, 1940, in Batesville, AR to the late Edward "Bill" Scarbrough and Anna (Howard) Scarbrough. Verna liked art and painting and enjoyed traveling around playing guitar and singing with her sisters. She was a Jehovah's Witness and when she was able, she was involved in door-to-door ministry work.

Verna is survived by her husband of seventeen years, Martin Comfort; grandson, Daryl Rodriguez; sisters, Inez Berry and Donna Jameson; brothers, David Scarbrough and Mitchell Scarbrough; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Chris Rodriguez; brother, Jimmy Scarbrough; sisters, Marie Hall and Anita Qualls; and husband, Floyd Gene Cassidy.
