Obituary

Thurman Berry Dickey 95, of Cord passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014. He was born January 17th 1919, and lived on the same farm in Cord, Arkansas. He was the son of Dowell and Ester Dickey. He was a farmer, raised cattle, and a Master Gardener. He loved to fish and hunt. He was well known for his great deer stories. He attended the Cord Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons, Lavon Dickey (Cindy) of Okeechobee, Florida; Dr. Dwaine Dickey of Rogers, Arkansas; one daughter, Linda Dickey Beckmann (Ron) of Batesville; five grandchildren, Carol Dickey McGrory of Eustis, Florida; Lauren Dickey of Bentonville, Arkansas; Christie Westmann of Anchorage, Alaska; Scott Beckmann of Baltimore, Maryland; Amber Muelhbach of Springdale, Arkansas; five great grandchildren, Gary McGrory, Sarah McGrory, Lily Beckmann, Ella Beckmann, Asher Westmann; and one great-great grandson, Levi McGrory. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ott Dickey; granddaughter, Rachel Dickey; six brothers, Norvel Dickey, Alvis Dickey, Alonzo Dickey, Clifton Dickey, Cleo Dickey, Eugene Dickey, and one sister, Mary Heyde. Pallbearers are Jerry Burgess, Dan Burgess, Roger Burgess, Eugene Burgess, Warren Dickey, Darrell Dickey. Honorary Pallbearers are Lavern Dickey, Scott Beckmann, Gary McGrory, Al Dickey, Fred Heyde, Ted Heyde. Visitation will be at the Cord Baptist Church Saturday December 6th, at 9:30 AM, followed by services at 10:30 AM, with the Brother Jeff Childress and Brother David Burgess officiating, Interment will be held at Hopewell Cemetery in Cord. Arrangements are being made by Willis Funeral Service of Batesville. www.willisfs.com
