Thomas Junior (T.J..) Gates, 72 of Batesville passed away May 10, 2019. He was born in Flint, Michigan on March 11, 1947 to the late Thomas Earl and Anne Gates. He was a professional welder an avid horseman for many years. He was a loving man and hard worker who loved his family tremendously. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Lorraine Perkins, 2 brothers Lee and Edward Gates.

He is survived by his wife Judy Gates of 33 years. Six children, four daughters: Melinda  MIchelle (Robert) Morris, Patricia Jernigen, both of Louisiana, Jeanine (David) Fulcher and Sonya (JR.) Bunch both of Batesville, AR. Two sons; Shane Gates  of Louisiana and John (Charlotte) Rowe of Batesville, AR.. A brother Carl (Pearline) Gates of Searcy, AR. and 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, and cousins. and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday May 13, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. with the service Tuesday May 14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. both at Willis Funeral Service. Burial will be at Blue Springs Cemetery. Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR. in charge of the arrangements. Officiating will be Rev. Allen Brown.
