Obituary

Teresa “Sissy” Loraine (Burns) Corter, 40, of Carter County, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Teresa was born on February 8, 1986, in Batesville, to Tressa (Williams) Allen and the late Bill Burns. Sissy was a loving and outgoing individual with a deep passion for art and tattoos. She cherished her family above all, especially her children, nieces, and nephews. Known for her free spirit and love of travel, she embraced life as an adventurer, never staying in one place for long. She will be remembered for her vibrant personality and the joy she brought to those around her.

Teresa is preceded in death by her father, Bill Monroe Burns; her son, Kolby Dean Clark; and her sister, Betty Burns “Heidi”. She is survived by her mother, Tressa Sue Allen (Maurice); her two sons, Ethan Geaslin (Cassidy) and Brody Geaslin; her 2 brothers, Danny Matlock (Audrey) and Travis Matlock (Cassie); her 5 sisters, Sarah Morris (Kyle), Amanda Matlock (Michael), Angel Burns, Angela Flanery (Jeremy), and Felicia Burns; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR. There will be a visitation on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM. Immediately after the visitation, a graveside service will be held at Maple Springs Cemetery in Rosie, AR, at 2 PM.
