Melissa Sue "Susie" Smart, age 47, died June 30, 2017. She is survived by husband, Stephen Kyle "Kegal" Smart, son Gaven, and daughter Kinley of the home. She is also survived by her mother, Mary Gilmore and siblings Sandra Milligan, Michael Hughes, Rosetta Davis, Rodney Hughes, and Gary Gilmore. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Hughes. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at North Heights Church of Christ from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 6. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm at the same location. A private family burial will follow. As a nurse and co-owner of Approve Home Health and Caring Hands Hospice, Susie helped to form a fund for families to assist in expenses for their loved ones in their time of need. In lieu of flowers and to continue Susie's legacy, donations can be made to the Compassionate Care Fund at Caring Hands Hospice, 2000 Harrison Street, Batesville, AR 72501, Attention: Suzanne Dickey.
