Stephen Harold Handford, Sr., 72, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 in Memphis. He was born December 19, 1941 in Batesville to Harold Handford and Vera Meade Handford. He worked as a purchasing agent in the lighting industry and was of the Christian faith. He loved playing and building guitars, building custom guns and knives, the outdoors, camping and was very proud of his family's artistic abilities. Survivors include one son; Stephen Handford, Jr. and his wife Nukesha Coleman of Memphis, TN; two daughters, Stephanie Hawley and her husband David of Maumelle and Dena Roberts also of Maumelle; seven grandchildren, Jordan Wyant, Jansen Romine, Stephen Jacque Handford, Kianna Handford, Jordan Handford, Lacey Roberts, Reagan Roberts and one great grandson, Eli Wyant. He is preceded in death by his parents and his adoptive father, Gerald Arnold. Graveside memorial services will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Oaklawn Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy Doyle Payne officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are Stephen Handford, Jr., David Hawley, Marcus Bowers, Ronnie Smith and Jimmy Payne.
