IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stephen Dexter
Cuzzort
September 6, 1947 – September 26, 2021
Stephen Dexter Cuzzort, 74, passed away on September 26, 2021. He was born in Batesville on September 6, 1947, to the late Ralph and Geneva (Buchanan) Cuzzort. Steve had a big personality. Anything that life could throw at him, he would always keep his head up and look at the positive side. He was a hard worker and the work he did over the years reflected that. He served his country by enrolling in the US Air Force right out of High School. Steve loved watching the Saint Louis Cardinals, reading as well as watching Westerns, and most of all he loved spending time with his family. His legacy and the memory of Steve and his big heart will live on through those that love and cherish him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Norma (Dowell) Cuzzort; sons, Shane Cuzzort and Scott Cross; daughters, Laurel Nievel, Desiree Holstead, Raven Chesterton, Rachel Armstrong, and Holly Cross; granddaughter of the home, Erin Cross; brother, Robert Cuzzort; fifteen grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Geneva Cuzzort; two sisters, Elizabeth Nast and Anna Mae Liebenguth; and one brother, Max Cuzzort.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, in Batesville at West Baptist Church with Brother Cory Majors officiating from 10 to 11 AM. The funeral service will follow directly after. We will interment from the church to Oaklawn Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Sky Clark, John Cuzzort, Ben Allen, James Melton, Rusty Langle, and Don Jenkins. Honorary Pallbearers include the Deacons at West Baptist Church and the staff at Scott Wood Dealership.
