Shirley May Nanney, 85, passed away on September 5, 2023. She was born in Judsonia, Arkansas, to Frank and Jessie Lawrence.

Shirley was a simple woman who enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved to bake and cook, and she made sure that nobody ever left her home hungry. She also enjoyed flower gardening, taking care of her dog Pixie, babysitting, and watching nature from her front door. But most of all she enjoyed being with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose memory will forever live on in the hearts of those that loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband of thirty-six years, Jerry Nanney; parents, Frank Lawrence and Jessie (Payne) Lawrence; daughter, Sherry Davis; brothers, Darlis Lawrence and Pat Lawrence; sisters, Virginia Lawrence, Laverne Mashburn, and Barbara Davis; and granddaughter, Rebecca Harrison. She is survived by her sons, Jeremy Nanney (Diane and Tonia) of Locust Grove, Arkansas, and Darrell Simmons of Searcy, Arkansas; daughter, Marsha Pittman (Ken) of Newark, Arkansas; brother, Gary Lawrence (Bernice) of Drasco, Arkansas; and eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
