Ruth West, 93, of Evening Shade died Friday, December 11, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family, Ruth was born September 8, 1927 to the late Guy Lester Wilson and Maude Jane (Fullerton) Wilson. Ruth was a Christian woman who embodied the values of selfless service and love. She expressed these values in life by choosing the nursing field as her profession. Nursing was her passion and served as her life's work. Most notably. She worked alongside the surgical staff of the founding doctors of Virginia Mason Hospital.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, 9 siblings, and her first husband, Gerald Allen. She is survived by her husband Joel B. West; her sons, Gregory Allen (Lavonda) and Randall Allen (Santha); her daughter, Candice Allen Swoboda (Larry); her grandchildren, Danielle Priester, Nathan Allen, and several others, her step grandchildren, Colleen Moore, and John Berryhill, and several others; and her great grandchildren, Hannah Priester, and several others.

Arrangements are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville. The family will host a memorial service at a later date.
