Alice Ruth Vinzant Chesnutt, affectionately known as “Ruth,” 98, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Ruth was born on August 11, 1928, in Tunica, Mississippi, to the late William Broadfoot Vinzant and Mittie Glaze Vinzant. She earned an associate degree from Arkansas Tech University. During her working years, she was employed in Dr. Bill Vinzant's office.

Ruth was of the Presbyterian faith and attended First United Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who dearly loved her family and treasured the time she spent with them. Ruth enjoyed reading, traveling, and shopping, but some of her greatest joy came from being surrounded by those she loved.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her siblings, John William Vinzant (Elise), Charles Dale Vinzant (Mary Jane), Rachel Vinzant Williams (Craig), and Nancy Vinzant Trigg (Bill).

Ruth leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Gayle Chesnutt Ross (Jim) and Gwen Chesnutt Landt (David); along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Ruth will be lovingly remembered for the love she shared with her family and the many memories they created together. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
