IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Russell Allen
Ohnstad
October 15, 1952 – October 12, 2021
Summing up a life lived in a few words is an impossible task, especially when that individual was Russell Ohnstad. When asked for input from the family, we were flooded with more love and fond memories than we could put into print. First and foremost, Russ was a loving husband, father, brother and son. He loved working with his hands whether that be with any type of mechanics, wood, leather or hugging his family. He loved spending time on the water, surfing, boating and fishing. He loved being in nature whether it was backpacking in California or in the woods in Arkansas. Russ was kind, not just when it mattered, but in private as well. He was a member of Truck Drivers Against Child Abuse, and would help anyone at any time, regardless of how long he knew them. He was a gentle and loving man who taught his family the importance of remembering where you came from, and the value of cherishing with your heart and not with material objects. He cherished the moments he had creating memories with his children, grandchildren, family and friends. Russ had a love for life and could quickly make someone laugh. Summing up a life is not an easy task as Russ was all of this and so much more. He was a man who was loved by many and will be missed deeply for many years to come.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Gail (Dunn) Ohnstad; mother, Lillian Maxine (Conner) Baker; son, Nathanial Steven Ohnstad; daughters, Kristyn Allison (Ohnstad) Leavitt and Patricia Anne (Ohnstad) Brown; brother, Thomas Bradley; sisters, Donna Bruins and Lisa Mansfield; as well as eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ted and Mildred Conner; father, Keith Owen Ohnstad; and brother, John Michael Bradley.
A memorial service will be held at Willis Funeral Service on Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
