Norman Russell Cantrell 74, of Locust Grove died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in a Heber Springs hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was born November 22, 1940 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to Russell Amos and Christine Settle Cantrell. Norman was an electrician and rancher. He was a graduate of Stuttgart High School and served four years in the United States Navy. He was a Master Mason, a member of Mt Zion Lodge of Batesville, and a member of the board of directors of the Concord Senior Center. He was an avid deer and turkey hunter. He loved reading and time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Nora (Tammy) Dortmundt Cantrell: four sons, Norman Ray Cantrell of Fort Worth, Texas, Mark Cantrell of Marion, James Perkinson, Jonathan Perkinson of Concord, nine grandchildren, Daniel, Nickolas, Joshua, Hunter, Cody Blaze, Cyndahl, Rachel, Erin and Emma, and one sister, Aline Cantrell McCracken of Batesville, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.
Memorial Service will be held at Concord Community Center, Concord.
