Nellie "Dorene" Brown, 78, passed away Saturday December 3rd, 2016. She was born August 12th, 1938 to William Cossey and Evelyn (Duncan) Cossey. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed life with her flowers and her dogs. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers: Wayne Cossey, Jerry Cossey, Melvin Cossey, and Ira Cossey; and one sister Lorene Smith. She is survived by her son Paul Lindhurst of Sulphur Rock; one brother Larry Cossey of Sage; two sisters Vickie Harmon of Batesville and Laverne Turner of Benton; two grandchildren Shane Lindhurst and Joshua Lindhurst; two great-grandchildren Britney Lindhurst and Shanda Lindhurst; three great-great grandchildren; a good friend Shirley West of Newark; and a host of other relatives and dear friends. A visitation will be held from 3-5 PM on Wednesday, December 7th, 2016 at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Ms. Dorene to the Humane Society of Independence County.
