Obituary

Neldon Lee Hester, 76, of Southside, AR passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021. Neldon was born October 29, 1944, in Ellis, AR to the late James Homer Hester and Cora Elizabeth Henry. Neldon served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He served 3 tours in Vietnam and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Neldon loved driving race cars (M13). He was the Roll Over Derby King. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was coon hunting, catching catfish, metal detecting, cutting wood, mowing on his zero-turn with his little dog, "Amos", or growing tomatoes in his greenhouse. Neldon is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Steven Hester; his grandson, Mitchell Hubbard Hester; his brother, Norman Hester; and his sister, Dolly Wade. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Hester, his son Wesley Hester; his brother, Marion Hester (Virginia); his sister, Evelyn Hunt; his granddaughter, Whitney Foster (Mike), and his two great-grandchildren, Reef and Astoria. Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR. Allen Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Southside will host a visitation Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 1 PM with the funeral service following at 2 PM. Interment will be at Egner Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
