Nancy Carolyn Chamblee Thomas departed life on July 30th, 2024. Nancy was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 12, 1938. Six weeks later her adoptive parents Clarence E and Isora L Chamblee took her home to El Campo, Texas where they provided a wonderful life for her. Nancy attended Baylor University for three years, graduating from East Texas State University. She was a teacher, and housing counselor professionally. She also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and the Independence County Humane Society for many years. Nancy is survived by her husband, Van C. Thomas of Batesville, her son Jeff Funderburk (Laura) of Dallas, Carol Fagan (Todd) of Kansas City, Teresa Miller (Jeff) of Austin, and Julie Sloan (Walker) of Little Rock. She had nine grandchildren, Andy, Sam, Scott, Camren, Jack, Bella, Nicolas, Dixon, and Sophia.
