Melvin Eugene McDoniel, of Sulphur Rock, passed away Monday July 8 at the age of 57. Eugene served his country honorably as a member of the United States Marine Corp. Eugene was loved and treasured by his friends and family and touched the lives of all who knew him. Eugene enjoyed staying busy,aside from working 32 years at Arkansas Lime, he enjoyed working outside bailing hay, tending to the cattle, or just shooting the breeze with his close friend Billy Carlton. He also enjoyed following the Razorback football and basketball teams. Eugene is preceded in death by his father Melvin McDoniel, and his brother Johnny McDoniel.  Eugene is survived by his wife Ruth (Cimino) McDoniel, they knew each other for 34 years and were married for 25 of those wonderful years. He is also survived by his mother Etta (Junior) Clark of Magnus, AR, and two sisters: Donna Stonr of Magnus, AR and Ronda (Tommy) Perry of White Hall, AR. Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville.  There will be a celebration of life Wednesday July 17, 2019 from 6-8 PM at Willis Funeral Service Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of Independence County (5 Environmental Dr. Batesville, AR) or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
