Maxine Qualls Carter, 89, of Concord passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 in Batesville. She was born June 6, 1925 in Quitman to Thomas C. Qualls and Fannie Lane Qualls. She retired from Banquet, formally J K Southerland Processing Plant, with over 40 years of service, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Glynda Carter Tucker of Concord; two sisters, Grace Phelps of Westminster, California and Imogene Reed of Sparkman; five grandchildren, Wesley Green, Tammy Green Johnson, Mike Green, Amanda Green, and Chanel Williams; two step-grandsons, Kenny Tucker and Rick Tucker; twelve great-grandchildren; nineteen great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ned J. Carter; one son, Elvis Green; two granddaughters, Mary Green Smart and Rebecca Ann Green; three great-grandsons, Shane Morse, Wayne Morse, Matthew Wayne Green and one great granddaughter, Patience Easter.
Services will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel with Billy Reed officiating. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Floral. Pallbearers are Ms. Carter's grandsons and great-grandsons.
Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. to service time, Thursday, April 2, 2015.
