Mary Elizabeth Meade, 96, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 25, 2022. She was born in Sioux City, Iowa, on November 19, 1926, to the late Glenn and Annetta (Neustrom) Hutchison.

Mary was an avid reader and enjoyed cribbage and puzzles. She loved politics and worked at the Lake County Illinois voting polls. Mary also worked in the nursery at a hospital part-time. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, going on picnics, sightseeing, and visiting the zoo with her grandchildren. She loved watching English comedies and playing video games. Mary also enjoyed visiting with her neighbors. Above all else, Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who will be missed by all those who loved her.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Donna Hagen (Jere), Susan Zumalt, and Elizabeth Cragg (Curtis); son, James Wesley Meade (Tamela); daughters, Mary Henderson (Jerry) and Joanne Tucker (Wendell) twenty-six grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis R. Meade; son, Glenn L. Meade; infant sons, James and John; grandson, Joshua Martin; son-in-law, Donald Zumalt; brothers, Bob Hutchison and Jackie Hutchison; and sister Darlene Dyer.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
