Mary Jane Landers, 93, passed away Saturday, January 20th, 2018. She was born October 8th, 1924 in Guion, Arkansas. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Desha, Arkansas. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, cooking, crocheting, and quilting. She also enjoyed doing for others and time spent with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ezra and Nannie Courtney; her husband, Roy L. Landers Sr.; a daughter, Betty Jean Larson; one brother, Alfred Courtney; and her sister, Harriette Grice. She is survived by two sons, Roy L. Landers Jr. and his wife, Kathy, and Eddie D. Landers; four daughters, Freda J. Gibbins of Conway, Carolyn Hughes and her husband, Bob, Sharon (Boutwell) Taylor and her husband, Donald, and Royce Turner; one brother, Edward A. Courtney of Davison, Michigan; ten grandchildren, Tianna Reynolds, Melissa Crites, Nelson Landers, Jonathan Landers, Jessica Hess, Kiley Boutwell, Frankie Landers, Brittney Harris, Andy Anderson, and Jeremiah Turner; fifteen great-grandchildren; a step-son Lavern Landers; a step-daughter, Shirley Sivell; and a host of extended relatives and friends. Visitation will be Monday, January 22nd from 5-7 PM at Willis Funeral Service. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, January 23rd at 10 AM at the First Methodist Church of Desha with Bro. James Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at the Alderbrook Cemetery of Desha. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Nelson Landers, Jonathan Landers, Kiley Boutwell, Frankie Landers, Andy Anderson, and Jeremiah Turner. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jordan Weaver, Arkansas Hospice, and the Woodlawn Nursing Home Staff on Magonlia Hall for the care you provided for Mrs. Mary Landers.
