Mary Ellen Bossi Harmon of Bethesda passed away on Thursday, July 23. Mary was 95 years old. She was born to Donald Bossi and Josephine Broderick in May of 1931 in Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, a brother, two half-brothers, and her husband, Albert Leon Harmon. She is survived by 4 children, Michael, wife Sue, Don, wife Cherri, Steve, wife Pat and Dena, husband Bill, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Also, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She had an interesting work life, having worked for Convair in San Diego, California, in the late 1950’s. She also worked at White Rogers and later as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Batesville, AR. She was a founding member of the Bethesda Fire Department and instrumental in getting the Bethesda Water Association established.

She was a Navy wife, and was active in the Bethesda Community Center in the early development years. She was also a member of the Chinquapin Church of Christ.

Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville. Burial will be a graveside service at the Campground Church Cemetery on Monday, July 27 at 10:00 AM. Mary requested gifts to the Campground Cemetery fund at 129 Low Ln, Batesville, AR 72501, in lieu of flowers.
