Margaret (Chesney) Scott, 88, passed away on July 14, 2023. She was born in Plainview, Arkansas, on August 27, 1934, to Joseph and Roxie Chesney.
Margaret was a faithful Church of God of Prophecy member for many years. She loved to read her bible and was known to be a prayer warrior. Margaret also loved the arts and enjoyed crafting, painting, and creating flower arrangements. She was also a hairstylist for over 20 years. But most of all, Margaret loved spending time with her friends and family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose memory will forever live on in the hearts of those that loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Robert Chesney and Roxie (Rogers) Chesney; husband, Billy Joe Scott; brothers, Jewel D. Chesney and Joe Clyde Chesney; sisters, Ruby Neil Bryant, Lucille Lafarlette, and Sylvia Elizabeth Johnson; half-brother, Allen Chesney; half-sisters, Ada Moss, Gladys Grady, and Eunice Brand; and grandson, Bronson Scott. She is survived by her sons, Joel Lynn Scott of Jacksonport and Billy Don Scott of Jacksonport; daughters, Anthanette Fike (David) of Batesville, Carolyn Renea Jones (Charles) of Batesville, and Patricia Elicia Lewis (Bob) of Indianapolis; sister, Sue Ellison of Benton Harbor, Michigan; grandchildren, Andrew Scott (Becky), Maisie Brady (Kyle), Cameron Scott (Marie), Devant Holland, Trevor Holland (Krista), Michael Robertson, Thomas Fike (Rachel), Kelly Lewis (Heather), Chesney Eberlein (Myles), and Angel Fike (Brady); great-grandchildren, Wyatt Eberlein, Bryson Duncan, Aris Brady, River Brady, Beau McClain, Dallas Holland, Stella Holland, Forrest Scott, Aven Scott, McCaje Robertson, Kinleigh Scott, Kendall Scott, Scarlet Scott, Conner Fike, Mya Lewis, Keaton Shwartz, Christopher Shwartz, Ethan Shwartz, and Kameryn Shwartz; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Willis Funeral Service on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Susan Killen, will begin following the visitation at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Kyler Cemetery.
