Manuel Lee Pruitt, 61, of Batesville passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in Batesville. He was born February 22, 1953 in St. Louis, MO to Manuel Winford Pruitt and Wava Cosby Pruitt. He was a retired groundskeeper for Lyon College, collector of antiques and coins, loved the outdoors and was a Christian. Survivors include two sons, Gene Pruitt of Russellville and Michael Travis of Batesville; two brothers, Eugene Pruitt and Jack Pruitt both of MO; six sisters, Wanda Tennis of TX, Mary Tanner of MO, Georgia Valentine of Batesville, Elizabeth Kennon of MO, Jacqueline Walker of MO, Sheryl Sturgen of MO and one grandson, Jehrick Travis He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patsy Pruitt and a sister, Barbara Candler. Services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel with John High officiating. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Pallbearers are Eugene Pruitt, Jimmy Valentine and Allen Walker Visitation will be Friday, April 11, 2014, 1:00 P.M. until service time.
