Lowell Wood, 82, of Lascassas, Tennessee died Thursday, January 26th, 2017 at Alvin C York Veteran's Hospital of Tennessee surrounded by his wife and family. He was born in Arkansas on February 13th, 1935 to his parents Clarence and Mae (Ellis) Wood. Lowell was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He drove an 18 wheeler across country, had a dairy farm, and then raised beef cows in Tennessee. Survivors include his wife of 38 and a half years Regina (Pitt) Wood, his sons Robert Herman and his wife Melissa of Tennessee, Richard Herman and his wife Melissa of New York, Joe Wood and his wife Tammy of Arkansas, and a daughter Patti Whitcher and her husband Russell of Florida. Grandchildren: Marcus Martinez, Leslie Martin, Stephani Sumler, Kevin Herman, Keith Herman, Heather Herman, Tommy Wood, Jared Whitcher, Nicklas Herman, Richard Jr. Herman, Sabrina Herman, and Samantha Herman. He is also survived by his sister Lola Reaper of Searcy, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his daughter Rhonda (Wood) Martinez, his parents, a brother Jerald Wood, sisters: Maxine Boswell, Avis Gay, and Vera Gay who died on January 30, 2017. Pallbearers include: Vince Gay, Clay Gay, Scott Gay, Wade Gay, Frank Reaper, and Robert Herman. Visitation will be Friday, February 3rd from noon-2 PM and the funeral service will begin at 2 PM at the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Pleasant Plains with Bro. Verlon Wood officiating. Burial will follow at the Union Grove Cemetery. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Service.
