Lois Mae Porter, 99, passed away Friday, February 2nd, 2018. She was born November 8th, 1918 in Poughkeepsie, Arkansas. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, canning, gardening, and reading her Bible, and taking care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Douglas and Eunissa (Walling) Douglas; her husband, Ewin Porter; a daughter, Japilene Porter; a son, Perry Porter; a grandson, Stan Porter; two great-grandsons, Andy Wright and Shane Perren; three brothers, Carlos Douglas, Samson Douglas, and Dennis Douglas; and two sisters, Retha Douglas and Edna Sawyers.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Porter and his wife, Barbara, of Cave City and Ken Porter and his wife, Juanita, of Salado; two daughters, Mary Frances Cooper and her husband, Clifton, of Grange and Mildred Scott and her husband, Terry, of Sandoval, Illinois; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 4th from 6-8 PM and the funeral service will be Monday, January 5th at 1 PM both at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at the Lebanon Cemetery of Nelsonville.
Pallbearers include, Keith Porter, Keith Wright, Marty Martin, Ronnie Painter, Brandon Wright, and Mike Alexander.
Honorary Pallbearers include, Employees of Woodlawn Nursing Home, Brad Porter, Keith Hankins, Dr. Homer Brooks, Dr. Jordan Weaver, Jimmy Perren, and Phillip Porter.
