Lois Jean Hall, lovingly known for her kind spirit, gentle heart, and unwavering faith, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, at the age of 90. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Fred Ruckman and Elsa Pfeiffer, Lois lived a beautiful life filled with love, creativity, compassion, and devotion to Jehovah.

A faithful Jehovah’s Witness, Lois cherished her time in ministry and found great joy in teaching others about the Bible and sharing her faith. Her love for Jehovah guided her life and touched everyone blessed enough to know her. She faithfully attended Kingdom Hall, where she built many treasured friendships and encouraged others through her warm and caring nature.

Lois was truly one of a kind. She had a brilliant mind and a creative soul. A master gardener with a gift for bringing beauty to life, she loved flowers and spent countless hours nurturing gardens that reflected her gentle spirit. She also loved building things with her hands, working on computers, solving puzzles, embroidering, crocheting, reading poetry, and caring for animals. She was fascinated with computers and her endless curiosity about learning new things. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life — listening to 1950s music and Kingdom melodies, strumming her guitar, and spending time with those she loved most.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Ruckman and Elsa Pfeiffer; her beloved husband of 41 years, Fred Hall; her sister, Mary Groeschil her brother, Fred Creighton Ruckman Jr.; her sons, Raymond Shelton, George Shelton, and Stephen Shelton; her daughter, Linda Tracey; and her granddaughter, Paula Herman.

Though her passing leaves a tremendous void, Lois leaves behind a legacy of faith, strength, love, and resilience that will continue through the family she cherished so deeply.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Christine Hardee (Michael) of Newark, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Tammy Lynn (Ron) of St. Louis, Missouri, Melynda Ezell (Keith) of Southside, Arkansas, Michael Shelton of Clinton, Arkansas, Cheryl Kistner of Newark, Arkansas, Tawna Owens (Geremy) of Newark, Arkansas, Jason Shelton of Imperial, Missouri, Thomas Sneed (Tara) of Batesville, Arkansas, Andrew Stitcher of Batesville, Arkansas, Randy Stitcher of Batesville, Arkansas, Jakobe Hardee of Newark, Arkansas, Brandon Shelton of Batesville, Arkansas, Daniel Shelton of Batesville, Arkansas, Cheyenne Shelton of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Shannon Shelton of Batesville, Arkansas, along with a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

A memorial service celebrating Lois’s life will be held Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the  Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, officiated by Mark Wilhite.

Lois will be remembered for her loving heart, her wisdom, her laughter, and the light she brought into every room she entered. Her life was a beautiful testimony of faith, kindness, and unconditional love. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the many precious memories she leaves behind and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.

Her love was sewn into every stitch, planted in every flower, spoken in every prayer, and carried in every song she played. The world is brighter because Lois Jean Hall was in it.
