Joy Ree Shipman, 76, of Batesville passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 in Batesville. He was born November 12, 1938 in Berryville, AR to Jasper Shipman and Edith Rogers Shipman. He served in the Navy, loved people, watching the weather and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Violet Shipman of Batesville; one brother, Rex Shipman of Modesto, CA; and one sister, Earlene Wright of Harrison. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy Jack Shipman. Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Rule Cemetery in Rule with Doug Harris officiating. Pallbearers are Stanley Wright, Steven Wright, Wesley Wright, Sam Brawley and Bill Ross. Honorary Pallbearers is the Green Forest High School Class of 1956.
