Johnny Dewayne Rushing, 67, of Pleasant Plains passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013 in Batesville. He was born November 18, 1945 at Elgin Air Force Base, FL to John J. Rushing and Alice Williams Rushing. He worked as a truck driver and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Norma Faye King; and one brother, Waylon Rushing. Survivors include one son, Phillip Rushing of Guadalupe, TX; one daughter, Phyllis Elaine of West Virginia; two brothers, George Rushing of Pleasant Plains and Don Rushing of Winnsboro, LA; two sisters, Vivian Bruce of Crowville, LA and Sherel Sue McMurray of Newelton, LA; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM., Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Willis Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Kendall Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Plains Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray McPike, Eric Armstrong, Ryan McPike, Aaron McPike, Jamie Rushing and Bob Willis. Visitation is Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 9:00 A.M. until service time.
