John "Jack" William Kelly, 75, passed away on October 21, 2020. He was born on March 12, 1945, in Petersburg, IL.
John was a member of the Grace Baptist Church at Adona. He enjoyed leisure activities, reading Louis L'Amour books, working in the yard, going to church, fishing, and hunting. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
John was a proud veteran who retired from the Navy in 1985. He was a distinguished veteran with: Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal with six Bronze Stars, an expert at rifleman and pistolshot, a recipient of the Battle "E" Award, Navy Achievement Medal with Gold Star, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Vietnam Service Campaign, Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and the National Defense Service Medal.
John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose memory will forever be cherished by his loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Kelly; sisters, Barbara Meeler and Daisy Mae Kelly; mother, Florence Kelley; and father, George Kelley. He is survived by his wife, Bonita Kelly; sons, George William Kelly and John Kelly II; step-sons, Timmy Stone and Wayne Stone; brothers, Hoop Kelley, Thomas Kelley, and George "Bill" William Kelley; sisters, Wanda Angel, Jo Ann LaMaster, and Darlene Kelley; grandchildren, Trey Kelly, Jake Kelly, Blake Kelly, David Kelly, and Charlotte Kaye Kelly; step-grandchildren, Houston Stone and Adrianna Stone; and step-great-grandchildren, Ransome Stone and Paisley Butler.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at Willis Funeral Service from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service, officiated by Butch Lawrence, will be held at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at 10 a.m. COVID-19 precautions will be in place, and a mask must be worn.
