John Edward (J.E.) Bunch, Sr., 74, passed away on Saturday, April 22, at 6:05 PM at the Southfork Nursing Home in Salem, AR. He was born on February 22, 1943, in Leachville, AR. J.E. was preceded in death by his infant son, Thomas Bunch, and his parents, Ester Drake, of Heber Springs and Edward Bunch, of Batesville. He had also lost an infant sister Louise, Evonna Skinner of Batesville, and Juanita Hightower of Thida, AR. He is survived by his wife Gail Bunch; his son, John Edward Bunch, Jr., and his wife Sonya; two daughters, Misty Messer Vasquez and Donna Ellene Fair, both of Batesville; two sisters, Faye Stroud of Cave City, and Helen Arman of Mtn. Home, Idaho; three half-sisters, Mary Scarbrough of Cushman, and Lucille and Colene Bunch of Cave City; and one half-brother, William Bunch also from Cave City. J.E. had 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of the Batesville and Cave City area. Visitation will be held at the Willis Funeral Services of Batesville on Wednesday, April 26th from 3 to 5 pm. The graveside services will be held at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Cushman on Saturday morning, April 29th at 10:00.
