John Truman Baker, 71, of Batesville, died on Sunday, October 1, 2023. John was born on June 26, 1952, in Newport, AR, to the late John W. Baker and Cora Evelyn (Murray) Baker. John enjoyed working with his hands, always looking to stay busy fixing things and working around the house. He loved to fish and also enjoyed his pet dogs. Most of all, John loved to spend time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

John is preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Mary Anita Baker; and his brother Larry Baker. He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Phillips and Angie Franks (Steve); his son, Donnie Butler; his grandchildren, Blaine Ramey (Alexandra), Sydney Franks, Blake Franks, Sheridan Phillips, Chelsie O'Neal, and Dara Butler; his great-grandchildren, Blakely Franks, Luke Bilby, Carson Martin, Brooklyn Stroud, and Oakley O'Neal; and his nephew, Jeff Baker.

Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville. Visitation will be from 10 am until 11 am with the Memorial Service beginning at 11 am.
