Joel Tracy Philips, 54, of Salado passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 in Salado. He was born February 26, 1960 in Columbus, MS to Harvey Philips and Julia Smoot Philips. He loved the outdoors, wood crafting, hiking, skiing and was a talented artist. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his parents, Harvey D. and Julia Philips of Salado; his two brothers, Jim Philips of Salado and Chip Phillips and his wife, Rita, of Jamestown; one sister, Jean Anne Martin and her husband, Jimmy, of Blytheville; three nephews, Wiley Philips, Chris Martin, and Jarred Martin and one niece, Maigen Phillips.
