Jocie Ellen Calaway-Merriman McBride, 87 of Salado passed away on August 13, 2015 at Mountian Meadows Nursing Home. She was born April 11, 1928 to James Calaway and Dollie Pugh Calaway in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Jocie was a graduate of Moss High School in Oklahoma, and was retired from General Tire Corporation. She enjoyed cooking, family gatherings, Sunday dinners, Atlanta Braves, and loved to dance. Survivors include three children; Mariellen Driskill, Dorthy Barnes, Donnie McBride, one brother; Leonard Calaway, three sisters; Dortha Merriman, Wilma Robbins, Lennie Knoblett, eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and four great- great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband's Glen Merriman, Archie McBride, two sons Chuckie Merriman, James Merriman, two grandsons, Russell Merriman, Billy Joe Sample, four brothers; Glen Calaway, Bud Calaway, Pat Calaway, Emmit Calaway, four sisters; Gladis Lock, Millie Lock, Tennie Lock, and Rena Merriman. Visitation will be Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., with Bro. Bob Daily officiating. Interment will be held at Edgar Cemetery in Salado. Pallbearers include Shane Winkle, Mark Winkle, Chuckie Harmon, Marty Harmon, D.J McBride, Brian McBride, and Jared Merriman. Honorary Pallbearers include Mountain Meadows Health and Rehabilitation Staff.
