Jimmy Carl Pool

Jimmy Carl Pool, 87, of Batesville, Arkansas, went home to be with his Lord on June 20, 2026, at his home. He was born September 9, 1938, in Batesville, Arkansas, to Robert and Pearl Pool.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Pearl Pool; his sister, Linda Rutledge; and his infant daughter, Judy Lynn Pool.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Barbara Pool; his daughters, Phyllis Ring and husband Nickey Ring, and Sheila Poff and husband Larry Poff; his grandchildren, Nicole Gay, Jon-Michael Poff, and Meagan Houser; and his great-grandchildren, Gracie Gay, Ella Gay, Grant Gay, and Caroline Houser. He also leaves behind extended family members and dear friends who will cherish his memory.

Jimmy began his career with Western Union. During that time, he covered Arkansas Travelers baseball games in Little Rock, and his children especially loved going to the games with him and picking up Cracker Jack toys left behind by guests. Later, he became a home builder, where he was known for his hard work and craftsmanship. He also worked for GenCorp Dualex (GDX).

A longtime member of Rehobeth Baptist Church in Moorefield, Jimmy loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing with his buddies and his sons-in-law. He and Barbara also shared many enjoyable years camping with dear friends Charles and Norma Crowson, Bill and Kathy Fitzpatrick, Don and Barbara Pool, Jerry and Linda Hoofman, and family members. Those times brought him great joy and created treasured memories through the years.

Jimmy also enjoyed gardening and took great pride in growing tomatoes and watermelons. He loved spending time with his family, especially playing cards together, which brought many hours of laughter and enjoyment. He also dearly loved his Morkie, Jack.

Jimmy will be remembered for his love for his family, his faith, his love of the outdoors, and the kindness and friendship he shared with others.

Cremation services are being handled by Willis Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Rehobeth Baptist Church in Moorefield, Arkansas.
