Jimmy Freeman Ingram Sr., 81, of Rosie, AR, died on Sunday, March 19, 2023. Jimmy was born on January 2, 1942, in Thida, AR, to the late Roscoe Layton and Juanita Geraldine (Davis) Layton. Jimmy served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He was a truck driver by trade and in his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.
Jimmy is preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Margaret Ingram; his sister, Jane Lynn; and his brother Wayne Layton. He is survived by his two sons, Jimmy Ingram Jr. (Peggy) and Keith Ingram; his daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Gates; his brother, Ricky Layton (Sheila); his sister, Jo Ann Layton; his 4 grandchildren, Tony Ingram, Hal Ingram, Jared Gates (Heather), and Kristyn Corbit (John); his 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR; Services will be held at Maple Springs Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Visitation will be from 1PM until 2PM and the funeral service, officiated by Bro. Curt Howard, will begin at 2PM, with interment to follow at Brown Cemetery (Union Hill). Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Deny Roberson, Ben Davis, Rocky Layton, Jimmy McDaniel, James Hicks, and Terry Young. The family would like to recognize the following persons as honorary pallbearers, Jared Gates and John Corbit.
