Rev. Jerry Lester Lumpkin Sr., 76, passed away Friday, August 4th, 2017. He was born January 24th, 1941 in Harrisburg, Arkansas. He served as a Methodist Minister for Sharp United Methodist Church and Oakridge United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lester Lumpkin and Bertha Lumpkin; his first wife, Betty Marie Lumpkin; one daughter, Lisa Angela Davidson; and three brothers, Troy Lumpkin, Alton Lumpkin, and Lloyd Lumpkin. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Cecilia Lumpkin; one daughter, Becky Coburn; one son, Jerry Lumpkin Jr.; three step-children, Yvette Venters, Richard Davis, and Melissa Minton; sixteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews, church family, and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 8th from 12-2 PM at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel with the funeral service following immediately afterwards at the Sharp United Methodist Church of Gainsboro with Rev. Jim Bales officiating. Burial with follow the church service at Egner Cemetery of Salado. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in memory of Rev. Lumpkin to Sharp United Methodist Church or Oakridge Untied Methodist Church.
