J.C. "Buddy" Cornish 85, of Batesville, passed away Jan. 1, 2019. He was born in Monette, Ar. to Virgil D. and Edith (Gibson) Cornish. J.C. farmed until he hired on at Atlas Asphalt where he worked for 33 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and liked to go hunting. He was  of Pentecostal faith and attended the New life Assembly of Jesus Christ Church. God and church was his true passion. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Theda Mae (Barnett) Cornish; sisters, Irene Woodward and Patsy Schmidt. He is survived by sons,Jeff (Pam), Darrin, Chris (Ruth) and Kevin (Lora) Cornish; daughter, Kathy Briley; brother, Leon Cornish; sister, Peggy Lloyd; grandchildren, Jason Briley, Shannon Briley, Voughn Case, Bo Hallmark, Todd Smith, Tabitha Cornish; great-grandchildren, Elijah Briley, Jacob Briley. Visitation will be Friday Jan. 4, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Willis Funeral Service. Funeral Service will be Saturday Jan. 5, 2019 10 a.m. at New Life Assembly of Jesus Christ Church,8459 Hwy 69 E. Magness, Ar. Officiating Gaylon England. Interment Lee's Chapel Cemetery Sandtown Rd. Prayers to the family and God bless.
